Directly supervises the Access Center. This position carries out any supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's Human Resources Policies and Procedures, other Programs as applicable, Compliance Policies, applicable laws and statutes, practice acts and health and medical governing boards. Reports to administration on activities, accomplishments, future goals and recommendations for improvements.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field of study. Master's degree preferred. Five years of progressive management experience in clinic operations and healthcare delivery. Three years of direct high-level supervisory experience. Experience in an academic medical center preferred. The successful candidate will be able to actively engage with others in constructive problem solving and facilitate a team environment.LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

N/AESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Exemplifies the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) Values and Code of Conduct, while striving to identify compliance risk through department led risk assessments, system monitoring, and periodic audits, and reporting any identified violation to Legal Services and Corporate Compliance Departments. Ensures immediate action is taken on any issues identified through a self-assessment or by Legal Services or Corporate Compliance; that policies are developed or revised as necessary; and that efforts are made to ensure a positive and compliant work environment for all employees.Demonstrates leadership in the areas of: Human Resources, Financial Management, Planning, Directing, Continuous quality improvement, Institutional support and representation, Customer service.Works with the Vice President, Associate Vice President and other Ambulatory Operations staff to implement the mission and business plan for patient access, including personnel, operations, business operations in a call center environment, facilities management, quality assurance, and special projects by performing duties directly or through subordinate managers.Oversees all operational aspects and service levels of patient access functions within the Access Center call centers.Oversees regionalized patient scheduling reorganization for all WFBH ambulatory clinics and ancillary services.Directs ambulatory clinic access efforts, which include physician template design, tracking of schedule utilization and capacity management.Oversees the staff and activities in the access group. Includes direct supervision of the management team, and involvement in interviewing, hiring, training and overseeing the work of staff, appraising staff performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, addressing staff complaints and resolving personnel problems.Works collaboratively with Department Chairs, clinical and business managers and other administrators to accomplish assigned initiatives.Meets regularly with other current WFBH administration as needed to oversee the implementation and evaluation of these initiatives. Represents Ambulatory Operations in its relationship with front and back office activities.Works with compensation analysts to develop and approve job descriptions for patient access positions.Works closely with Patient Relations and Risk Management to address/resolve patient complaints or concerns.Works with Communications Marketing and Media, Strategic Planning, Facilities Planning, Managed Care, Patient Financial Services and other administrative departments to accomplish Medical Center initiatives and complete special projects as assigned, such as strategic planning, benchmarking analysis, space utilization analysis, etc.Works to resolve issues and provide open lines of communications to ensure high employee morale and a professional clinical atmosphere.Directs activities to promote, identify and implement group practice initiatives that support quality, employee development, patient satisfaction, and productivity.Enhances operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment without jeopardizing important motivation or quality of care.Maintains professional affiliates to enhance professional development to keep current in latest healthcare trends and development.Maintains strictest confidentiality.Participates in, attends or contributes to ambulatory care educational conferences.SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, problem solving, decision-making.Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, chairs, regulators, and public.Ability to organize work and achieve clinic goals and objectives.Knowledge of health care administration and clinic philosophy, policies, operating procedures, fiscal management systems and techniques.Knowledge of human resource management practices including supervision and staff development.Knowledge of governmental regulations and reimbursement requirements.Knowledge of computer systems and applications.WORK ENVIRONMENT:
