Job DescriptionDepartment Name:New Builds & Refurbishments Department – Hotel RefurbishmentsDepartment Summary:The New Builds & Refurbishments department at Carnival Cruise Line is responsible for the planning and execution of hotel refurbishments across the fleet. The team focuses on project development and management to enhance the guest experience through modernized and upgraded onboard hotel facilities. By overseeing refurbishment initiatives, this department ensures that Carnival’s fleet maintains high standards in guest accommodations and amenities.Dates:Intern must be available to work 40 hours per week with approximate dates of January - March 2025 (8 weeks)Internship Project SummaryProject Title:Hotel Refurbishment Project Development and ExecutionObjective:The intern will support ongoing hotel refurbishment projects across the Carnival Cruise Line fleet. This includes assisting with various project management tasks, creating and modifying AutoCAD drawings, and preparing presentations. The intern’s contributions will help the department optimize project development processes and maintain high-quality guest experiences onboard.Essential Functions:Assist with project development tasks, including developing scope, tracking progress, and providing status updates (40%).Create or modify AutoCAD drawings for various hotel refurbishment projects (20%).Visit ships to provide feedback and observe firsthand ship operations and maintenance (15%).Create presentations for business sponsors, internal clients, and executives (10%).Assist analysts in conducting reports, obtaining performance metrics, and general planning tasks (10%).Contribute to special projects focused on process improvement through tool/app/dashboard development (5%).Specific Qualifications:Preferred Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture/Marine EngineeringTechnical Skills:Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, and Adobe Reader XI. Superior knowledge of CAD.
