The HIPPY Director 1 will provide strategic leadership and management for the team. This position requires a combination of strategic thinking, strong leadership skills, and the ability to drive results. The HIPPY Director 1 will ensure that all employees are performing their duties to fulfill HIPPY program assignments with strict fidelity to ensure a high-quality service program. The HIPPY Director 1 is responsible for setting team goals, developing, and implementing strategies, and ensuring the efficient and effective execution of programs and initiatives.MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide strategic leadership and vision for the department, aligning goals and objectives with the overall district mission.Develop and implement departmental strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness.Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs, projects, and initiatives within the department.Manage all aspects of 5-year, $7 million Home Visitor Grant, including corresponding with the Texas Department of State Health Services with updates.Lead and mentor a team of professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance management.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and professional growth.Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective coordination of efforts.Monitor and evaluate departmental performance against established goals and metrics, implementing corrective measures when necessary.Oversee the coalition component of the grant. Proactively build strong partnerships with community organizations to aid in growing the HIPPY Program. Attend training with partners to determine collaboration strategies to build program effectiveness.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners, vendors, and community stakeholders.Represent the HIPPY HISD site at conferences, meetings, and events, serving as a spokesperson and advocate for the department.Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration, partnerships, and grant funding to support departmental initiatives.Devise data tracking systems and work with research to oversee the annual HIPPY report. Develop and write reports for the District and the State on the progress of the grant.Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies within the department's scope of work.Continuously seek opportunities for professional development and growth to enhance leadership skills and industry knowledge.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; master's degree preferred.WORK EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a leadership role, preferably within a similar industry or organization.SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION

Strategic oversight for multiple departments and/or a major division or for the entire district. Provides strategic direction and develops long-range plans which impact multiple departments or divisions. Using in-depth knowledge of multiple disciplines, identifies and evaluates high-impact issues, and provides strategy and direction to a major functional area or multiple departments. Establishes programs and policies, and ensures integration of operational objectives across multiple, major departments, program areas and possibly district-wide.WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT
Work is non-standardized and widely varied, involving many complex and significant variables including significant time spent planning, evaluating complex solutions and issues, and negotiating outcomes. Strong analytic ability and inductive thinking are frequently required to devise new approaches to situations where previously accepted solutions have proven inadequate. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the division. Supervision received typically consists of providing periodic coaching, advice and feedback.BUDGET AUTHORITY

Negotiate and influence - interprets department strategies and services, resolves conflicts, influences outcomes on matters of significance for the division, conducts final negotiations and coordinates approvals/decision making below the executive level. Regularly assesses and diffuses complex, and escalated customer issues. Takes personal responsibility and accountability for solving systemic customer service problems.
