Maintains and manages Information Technology software and hardware within the City of Concord infrastructure.The Systems Administrator is responsible for providing hands-on support to all departments for the City of Concord. The successful candidate must be a leader who can effectively communicate, document projects, issues, develop action plans and deliver results on time and within budget. Experience with numerous hardware and software platforms including VMWare and Microsoft are essential to the success of this position.
Examples of DutiesESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : (All responsibilities may not be performed by all incumbents.)Works with IT team with primary responsibility for advanced hardware and software troubleshooting and support. This includes servers, desktops, operating systems, and user application software.Provides technical helpdesk support for advanced hardware and software questions and problems.Troubleshoots reported phone system issues, performs setup and configuration of voicemail with escalation as necessary.Deploys and maintains virtual machines and cloud environments.Creates and maintains system documentation where needed.Troubleshoots LAN and WAN connectivity issues.Repairs defective hardware; works with vendors to coordinate repairs as necessary.Creates templates/images; applies current patches and updates.Performs other related duties as required.Typical QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field plus 2 or more years' experience with and responsibility for networked servers and desktop computers and help desk support, or any combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities required.Knowledge of and experience with network design and database management preferred.Any combination of education, training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.Availability for on-call hours on a rotating schedule.Desired Licenses and Certifications:Driver's License (Required)CompTIA A+ (a Plus)CompTIA Network+ (Preferred)Supplemental InformationMATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT USED
