Hybrid Category ManagerPosition Overview:We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Category Manager for Electrical Equipment to join our client’s growing Team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of their electrical equipment product category, from supplier management to pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives and customer needs.Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for electrical equipment, aligning with company goals and market trends.Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery of products.Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences, leveraging insights to inform category decisions.Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee product selection, pricing, and promotional strategies throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring optimal performance and profitability.Sales Collaboration: Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional plans, training programs, and tools to drive category growth and enhance customer engagement.Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels and demand forecasts to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory while ensuring product availability.Performance Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate category performance, providing regular reports and recommendations for improvement.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to ensure seamless execution of category initiatives and resolve any issues that may arise.Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; MBA preferred.3+ years of experience in category management or product management within the electrical equipment or related industry.Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Proven ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with category management software.
