High School Diploma or GED
required.Proficiency in Standard English; Spanish is a plus.Must pass criminal background check, fingerprinting, and pre-employment drug screening.First Aid and CPR certification.At least six months of experience working with youth in classroom, afterschool, or recreation settings.Strong Math and English skills (K-12).Excellent communication skills.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Program Management:
Plan and run engaging activities in areas like academics, fitness, and character development. Align daily activities with monthly themes, and interact with members, volunteers, staff, and parents.Leadership:
Supervise groups, handle potential issues, and apply BGCNWSD procedures. Manage behavior and support positive choices.Reporting:
Complete time cards, incident reports, and other materials accurately. Provide updates to the site supervisor and suggest improvements.Safety:
Ensure proper supervision, report and document injuries, and maintain a clean environment. Monitor student attendance and ensure safety protocols are followed.Engagement:
Foster a positive environment, model appropriate behavior, and maintain program cleanliness.Other Responsibilities
Site Maintenance:
Keep the site clean, including tables, floors, and bathrooms. Assist with meal preparation and cleanup.Transportation:
Reliable transportation to and from the site.Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality in staff and member matters.Compliance:
Adhere to all organizational policies and obtain necessary approvals for activities and forms.Additional Duties:
Perform other tasks related to the afterschool program as assigned.Work Environment
Work in a dynamic, interactive, and physically stimulating environment.Handle distractions and interruptions while meeting objectives and deadlines.Implement activities and ensure safety.Skills
