Terminal Specialist

with 5+ years of Pipeline or Terminal Operations or equivalent experience in the Oil & Gas Industry to join our team!Role Summary:Ensure that all terminal, pipeline, marine and/or rail (as applicable) operations are performed in a safe, reliable and environmentally conscious manner and that operations remain in compliance with the Company mission, policy, and direction. A Terminal Specialist may be responsible for multiple field locations or a field location with a larger asset size or complex operations. Primary job responsibilities include leading day-to-day activities related to the receipt, storage, inventory control and delivery of liquid petroleum products for the assigned field location(s), ensuring financial accountability for the assigned field location(s), responding to emergency response notifications when required, managing employee relations and payroll issues, and ensuring a safe working environment for everyone within the assigned field location(s).Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:Terminal Operations. Overseeing the maintenance and repair of the terminal loading rack and equipment associated with terminal operations; keeping the facility in good working order and acceptable appearance and maintaining the facility to meet or exceed company standards.Product Control. Receiving, storing, and distributing of petroleum products via pipeline, rail, and marine dock (if applicable), following all product movement, measurement and quality control procedures.Regulatory Compliance. Ensuring compliance with all safety directives, environmental regulations, and operating procedures, including Coast Guard, local, state and federal environmental agencies.Customer Service. Maintaining a good relationship with all terminal customers, responding to their inquiries and needs as required.Emergency Response. Responding to terminal, pipeline, rail and marine related emergencies and participating in annual emergency response training drills.Inventory Control Systems. Maintaining all computer inventory control systems and participating in any inventory issue investigations.Annual Budgets. Assisting in compiling annual project lists and costs for annual budget purposes at each terminal.Assisting in long term maintenance capital programs for each site.Assist Operations Manager (OM) with employee relations.Maintain a good relationship with all customers and respond to their inquiries and needs as required. Manage relationships with local governmental officials (first responders, EPA, Coast Guard, etc.) and ensure timely and accurate information dissemination.Demonstrate a good understanding of the terminal business. Assist with business development to grow terminal revenue. Keep aware of competitive environment and consult with Operations Manager and the Terminal Customer Service Group if action is required to capture or retain business.Assist Operations Manager in leading Asset Team to high performance certification. Support Asset Team in maintaining high performance status.Responsible to assist the Asset Team in compiling annual project lists and expenses for annual budget and forecasting purposes at assigned field location(s).Control expenses at assigned field location(s) via efficient operations/maintenance and report on variances as required.Assist with capital and expense projects within assigned field location(s). Keep aware of project status and timeline.Keep aware of Maintenance Priorities and Preventative Maintenance. Review PM Out of Compliance Reports and assist Asset Team in resolving.When necessary, request support from the District Work Team on operational objectives and immediate needs of the assigned field location(s).Support Buckeye terminal operations and assist in special projects as needed.And other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent required.Bachelor’s Degree preferred.5+ years of Pipeline or Terminal Operations or equivalent industry experience required.If applicable to location, experience with Marine Terminal Operations is preferred.Proficiency using Microsoft Office products required.General knowledge or experience in the petroleum industry is required.Experience managing operations helpful.Up to 20% Travel Required.Certificates & Licenses:Some locations may be subject to the port security regulations set forth by the Transportation Security Administration and United States Coast Guard. Employment at certain locations may be contingent upon obtaining state specific licenses and/or a Transportation Worker Identification Credential.Valid driver’s license.Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:Individuals must have the knowledge and ability to analyze and solve both personnel and Terminal operational issues.Good communication skills, with all levels of the organizations, are required. Should possess leadership abilities and promote a strong team environment.Individual should be a self-starter who is able to work with limited oversight and take ownership and responsibility for their assigned location(s).Although a large portion of the time may be spent in an office environment, the incumbent is also required to spend time in the field environment.Must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response, work long hours in the field and wear a respirator.Individual must consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and insist on a high level of customer service from the Asset Team.Individual must be available during non-work hours as required and will be required to carry a cell phone at all times.Essential Functions:This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.Physical & Safety Requirements:This role is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.This position requires the employee to regularly access and work at or around heights in excess of 5 feet, moving mechanical parts, moving on-track rail equipment, petroleum product or other chemical fumes, airborne particles like dust or other chemicals, vibration, uneven terrain, and high noise level in the work environment.The incumbent must meet medical criteria established by OSHA for emergency response.This position may require exposure to hazardous environments and require the wearing of a respirator.The incumbent in this role must wear Fire Retardant Clothing (FRC) and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).This position is subject to DOT drug and alcohol regulations.About You:To be successful in the Buckeye culture, our employees must possess a demonstrated commitment to environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance.
