Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Power Markets Analyst to join our Market Monitoring team. As a Senior Power Markets Analyst at Yes Energy, you will apply your advanced research and analytic skills across various challenges to support our efforts in nodal power markets, conducting in-depth research on market regulatory policy changes to identify trends in the industry that may impact our clients. In this role, candidates will build on their knowledge of energy markets and help guide our company through these rapidly evolving markets. The ideal candidate for this role will have in-depth expertise in nodal power markets, including real-time, day ahead, and FTR trading, with specialized knowledge of market regulatory policies & planning. This role will build on this expertise by analyzing market events to understand underlying market forces and identify dynamic trends across these rapidly changing markets. In this role, you will liaise with the clients utilizing our products and the various ISOs/RTOs nationwide from whom we gather data. Analysts on the Market Monitoring team must have an ongoing curiosity about power markets and a desire to share their market knowledge internally and externally. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about the energy industry's future and are excited to participate actively with our clients and data providers.

Primary Responsibilities
Market Research & Analysis: Research and document technical and market changes across the North American energy markets. Analyze the key drivers of noteworthy pricing events and emerging market trends. Independently produce internal reports and publish analyses to help keep Yes Energy staff and customers abreast of market changes.
Market Expertise: Participate in conferences/panels on market changes, policy positions, and other evolving market trends that could affect market participants.
Liaison with Data Providers: Foster direct, collaborative relationships with ISO / RTOs and other data providers. Participate in ISO policy meetings to understand current and upcoming changes and potentially contribute to and recommend changes.
Collaboration: Partner with the entire Product team, Market Data Operations, Customer Support, and senior leadership to identify opportunities to utilize your knowledge and expertise and contribute to product development strategy.
Client Relations: Help our clients make the best use of our products and in-depth regulatory knowledge. Assist customer support by responding to client market-focused inquiries and detailed questions on Yes Energy data and market insights.
Leadership: Take an active role in mentoring team members, providing guidance on technical analysis, and acting in place of the manager when needed.
Business Requirements Gathering: Assist Data Product Owners in creating technical requirements for new data collections and liaise with the Market Data Operations team to alert them to data modifications.
Communication: Coordinate with our data product owner, product managers, and other stakeholders to effectively communicate policy and publication updates from our data sources.
Minimum Qualifications
A passion and curiosity for electric power markets
Proven expertise in energy regulatory & policy analysis
BS / BA degree in economics, policy, or finance-related field or advanced degree
5+ years of experience analyzing power market data & events
5+ years experience in an energy market position; ideally experience with an RTO/ISO
Demonstrated management or product management skills
Exceptional communication & presentation skills with the ability to engage and influence internal and external stakeholders
Experience engaging with customers and data providers to build working relationships
Experience working with relational databases and leveraging data for analysis

Published articles and analysis
History in Customer Support, consulting, or working directly with customers
