They are integral to the account team and are key in building the trusted relationship with the customer.This position will be fully remote reporting into the Operations Manager. Must be a local Virginia resident and be able to support the Northern Virginia market.The Data Center Project Manager will manage and report the current status of a fixed bid project schedule, scope, and budget/cost in an accurate and timely manner.Executes job plans by coordinating and scheduling assignments, bidding, engineering, opening job numbers, and coordinating the materials logistics, crews, and tools required to complete projects on time and within budget. The Project Manager acts as a single point of contact for the customer, sales, operations, and other internal AFL departments on Data Center fixed bid projects. Prepares and submits customer-required status reports and project deliverables.ResponsibilitiesConform and adhere to all responsibilities within the Operational Guidelines throughout the phases of: Presales, Planning, Delivery, Closing, and Post-Installation.Monitor all aspects of project plans to ensure milestones, timelines, and budget targets are metMaintain data and system integrityEnsure accurate system data for engagement set upAligning all contract documents via Job Manager (PO, Contract, Proposal, PnL)Monitor Risks and initiate necessary Proactive and Corrective ActionsManage Change Control and procure change ordersManage AFL team and/or subcontractors/vendors to ensure timely and high-quality workMonitor and drive the quality assurance process during all phases of the projectConduct site surveys, quality checks and job auditsContinuously expand / farm existing accounts for additional opportunities to introduce other AFL servicesPerforming weekly reviews of:Project & Field Budget TrackersProject metrics systemInvoicing duePending AwardsAccounts ReceivablesMaterial ManagementWorks with the customer, suggesting alternatives as required to meet the customer’s needs and expectations, as well as satisfy AFL’s sales objectivesCustomer support, including interfacing with the customer, providing guidance on problem resolution, insuring on time customer service, and maintaining a strong customer relationUnderstands, adheres to, & promotes the Environmental, Health & Safety policies of AFL TelecomPersonal QualitiesLeadership – Proven success in leading high-performance teams, achieving results through others, and being a strong team playerAnalytical Thinking – Exceptional ability to analyze data and utilize it to make sound business decisionConflict Management and Resolution Skills - Build consensus, anticipate and solve problemsResults focused – Ability to organize and manage multiple, and at time competing prioritiesThink critically and problem solveHandle confidential/sensitive information with discretionGood judgmentOrganizational skillsKnowledge of Telecommunications industryExceptional written and verbal communications skillsPublic speaking experience preferredCurrent industry-related licenses and certifications preferredQualificationsMinimum 5 years’ experience in data center project management including the installation of standard cabling technologies, rack infrastructure and managing large scale build projects including the ability to communicate, prioritize and manage time effectivelyRCDD or PMP preferredExtensive experience managing new data center sitesExperience managing mission critical data centers preferredExperience managing teams of 20-50+ technicians on job sitesProduct experience with, but not limited to Corning, Panduit, Commscope and AFLFamiliarity with business concepts related to the use of information technologies and networking in all aspects of business and organizational operations for the achievement of business/operating objectivesProficient with Microsoft SuiteProficiency with MS Visio and AutoCAD preferredWorking ConditionsUse of standard office equipment, mostly printersGeneral hours of Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with the ability to provide support during and outside regular business hours is requiredTravel maybe required from time to timeMust be able to work in the United States
