Product Owner
Direct Hire - Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future
Pay: up to $140K
Location: Houston, TX - remote 2 days a week
Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and collaborative Product Owner with a blend of product management and project management expertise. This role involves managing the assigned product line from conception to completion, driving initiatives that enhance user experience and align with business goals. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, understanding their pain points and collaborating with IT teams to provide effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, understanding their needs and pain points to provide tailored product solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment between business objectives and IT deliverables.
Lead the development and management of the product roadmap, prioritizing tasks and initiatives to drive product success.
Keep user experience at the forefront while delivering on business needs.
Drive projects to completion with minimal supervision, taking initiative and ensuring all team members remain aligned and motivated.
Influence without direct authority, working across teams and stakeholders to ensure smooth product delivery.
Provide direction and guidance to two analysts, supporting their work without formal performance management responsibilities.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a Product Owner role (5+ years preferred).
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and relevant certifications preferred.
Proven ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence decisions without direct authority.
Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong initiative and self-management skills, with a track record of driving projects to completion.
Experience in managing and improving user experiences in product design and development.
Familiarity with software development processes and tools, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leading teams or managing analysts without formal supervisory authority.
Industry experience specific to the assigned product line.
This role requires someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, can take ownership of product success, and drive initiatives without micro-management.
