Jefferson County is accepting applications for a person with strong administrative skills who can support our Public Works engineering team. The position will work closely with our Port Hadlock Sewer Project Manager covering all aspects of administrative support work including maintaining project files; preparing contractor pay applications; maintaining contractor submittal logs; taking/distributing meeting minutes; maintaining construction logs for RFIs, change orders, etc.; preparing grant reimbursement requests; and other tasks. This position will also support other Public Works engineering staff working on bridges, roads, and similar projects.
The Administrative III position is based at our Public Works office in Port Townsend, WA but may also support engineering staff working in our sewer construction office in Port Hadlock, WA.
The ideal candidate for the Administrative III position would have proven experience providing administrative support for construction/engineering projects or other similar functions. Strong organizational skills are a must as are skills using the Microsoft suite of tools such as Word, Excel, Access, Office, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Include a high school diploma or GED and six (6) years’ experience performing administrative support work and/or training in a business curriculum.
Hours & Compensation:
This is a full time, 40 hour per week Teamsters Union position. Grade A3-C; Starting pay $25.10/hr. to $30.00/hr. depending on qualifications. Full medical benefits including dental and vision; Personal Time Off (PTO) accumulated based on hours worked up to a maximum of 21 days in the first year of employment, 12 paid holidays, bereavement leave and retirement provided through Washington State DRS.
