This is achieved by collaborating with supervisors, managers, and Ski & Snowboard School leadership on the creation, administration, quality control, staffing, and delivery of Ski & Snowboard School training. This position reports directly to the Director of Skier Services.Success in this role is defined by quality of performance across key areas; safety, employee development & certification, guest experience, financial responsibility, and staff retention. A successful Training Supervisor will organize systems to support exceptional instructor performance. They will recognize the value of quality instruction, well-matched group experiences, and be driven to exceed expectations and professional standards of excellence. This role represents a fantastic opportunity to develop and retain snowsports instructors.Job Responsibilities:Successfully coach, motivate and develop a high-performing instruction team. Ensure team is aligned with the goals, values, and safety standards of the Ski & Snowboard School, Stevens Pass, and Vail Resorts.Maintain an employee culture of inclusivity and excellence that will result in a safe, positive and engaging work environment for all.Develop, coordinate and schedule all aspects of Ski & Snowboard School staff training including overseeing and managing all assigned companywide trainings and courses to ensure 100% completion by assigned employees.Deliver exceptional guest experiences and develop training specific to business and guest needs working with Managers to ensure quality and consistency of products/services throughout the school.Continuously evaluate the training program's effectiveness through quality control and regular communication with pros, trainers, training team, supervisors, and managers.Remain current with professional organizations, industry trends, competitions, and events. Take advantage of educational and training opportunities.Co-Manage annual safety plan to reduce employee incidents and create a strong safety culture across departments.Accountable for effective communication with staff, leadership, peers, and other departments to create an environment of support and trust.Accountable for the accurate entry of schedules and payroll of training staff.Financial accountability for training revenue and expenses.Become an active and collaborative participant in company best practice groups and resort leadership team settings.Perform daily operational supervisor duties as required.Teach lessons to the public and lead training clinics when necessary.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Children Specialist 2 accreditation or equivalent.Minimum 3 years proven leadership experience in SSBS or closely related field.Demonstrated ability to perform in a high-paced, variable, multi-faceted environment and multi-task.A positive, strengths-based orientation and can-do attitude.High level of proficiency in MS Office applications and in adapting to unfamiliar software systems.English, fluency in both written and verbal.Able to work in a high alpine environment.High School diploma or equivalent.Preferred Skills and Experience:Experience with RPOS or RTP staff management software.Bachelor’s degree in education, leadership development, or related field.Previous Vail Resorts Supervisor or greater management experience.The expected pay range is starting at $27 per hour.
