Director Of Donor Development for Parishes

The Church of the Nativity, located in Timonium, seeks candidates for a Director of Donor Development. The role of the Director of Donor Development is to increase generosity from members of the parish and grow giving to offertory as well as special projects.
Essential Functions:
Donor Management
Establish solicitation priorities, manage prospect lists and research, develop and execute targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies. Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgement and scheduling in-person visits.
Develop and monitor donor files in order to coordinate all capital campaign activities. Strategizes and orchestrates methods of approach to institutional donors.
Ensure that data related to prospects and donors is recorded and tracked in our church management system; manage campaign record keeping, evaluate progress toward goals, prepare periodic reports on fundraising and present to the Pastor and appropriate councils, and recommend revisions to the fundraising plan, as needed to meet goals.
Campaign Communications
Manage the writing and development of Capital campaign print and electronic collateral materials and coordinate their design & production.
Work in conjunction with Archdiocesan offices, e.g. Vicar General, Director of Financial Affairs and Office for Development to ensure solicitation materials are consistent with Parish and Archdiocesan agreements.
Oversee campaign communications, and turn campaign milestones into ongoing public relations outreach.
Train and lead other staff to support fundraising & marketing efforts.
Cultivate and nurture relationships with current and potential corporate & foundation sponsors and individual donors.
Planned Giving Program: Track progress of pending legacy and bequest gifts. Fulfill requests, produce correspondences and encourage partial/early disbursement where appropriate.
Database and Records Management: With the Director of Finance & Technology supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintaining Ministry Platform and paper records of contributors and grants. Maintain security and quality controls. Generate queries, reports and export other data as needed.
Respond to all Capital Campaign gifts received by the Parish.
Participate in one on one solicitation as appropriate and requested.
Reporting
Provide detailed reporting Capital Campaign revenue and progress toward predetermined fundraising goal metrics.
Work closely with the Pastor and Project Committee to ensure that major gift and grant funds restricted for a particular program are being used appropriately within a reasonable amount of time.
Position Qualifications:
Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a preferred major course of study in development, public relations, communications or related field.
Three years of professional experience in fundraising with a track record of success, with specific experience in capital campaigns, individual giving and/or major gifts, and the tracking and monitoring of pledges; or an experience in sales that requires building relationships
