Southwire Job Description The Senior Accountant is responsible for % Completion and all accounting/reconciliations for a project-based service group. A successful Senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. This position works directly with the Project Management team and Senior leadership to ensure the financial success of all projects and timely accurate reporting. As such, strong communication skills and ability to lead are critical attributes. Key Responsibilities o Complete month-end close tasks promptly to ensure that accruals are accurate, and project accounting complies with GAAP. o Maintain the % of Completion accounting for the High Voltage Services Group o Monthly reconcile all costs against budget and lead spend/performance meetings with project management and senior leadership. o Perform project set-up and close-out with a post-mortem review of the total project financial performance. o Report monthly on Cost center variances to budget/forecast and communicate to management promptly to define corrective efforts needed. o Support the Finance manager on budgeting and forecasting for the Service groups. o Maintain the Forecast Accuracy Scorecard and directly work with business unit leadership to create improved processes for forecast accuracy. o Support audit requests by internal and external audit groups. o Work with Operations to complete a Pro-forma and IRR calculation for capital requests. o Ad-hoc reporting to support Management decision-making needs. Required Education, Experience, and Skills Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Specialized Degree: Accounting Years of Experience: 5+; 3+ with CPA certification 5+ with no certification Field of Expertise: Accounting Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills Certificates: CPA Other Preferred Skills, Licenses, & Certificates: * Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions and approaches for problem-solving and decision-making. * Strong/Advanced Excel skills * Ability to work with little supervision and to make appropriate decisions. * Ability to process work with a high level of accuracy. * Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. * Excellent verbal and written skills * Ability to establish priorities and organize efficiently. * Enthusiasm for learning and demonstrates initiative. * SAP or other ERP Experience * % Completion Accounting Experience a plus * Strong time management and organization skills are a must Reports To (Supervisor Title): Manager, FP&A Does this role Manage Southwire Team Members: No Travel: Domestic % of Time: Up to 25% Workplace Setting: In Office / On-Site (4+ days a week) Competencies Nimble Learning Customer Focus Plans and
