The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and is seeking academic surgical pathologists to join its Division of Anatomic Pathology at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level.The successful candidates will have clinical responsibilities for specimens generated from multiple clinical programs within the UC San Diego Health clinical facilities, as well as our referral/outreach/consultation programs and an expanding clinical integration network.The successful candidates will attend and sign-out on the multiple clinical subspecialty services within the Anatomic Pathology Division. The teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows is also expected.The appropriate series and appointment as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor will be based on the candidate's background and experience.A link to full descriptions of each series is provided for your review:HS Clinical ProfessorClinical X ProfessorAs a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited. Basic qualifications
(required at time of application)Candidates must have an MD or equivalent, DO, or MD/PhD in pathology or related fields.Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Anatomic or Anatomic/Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology.Additional qualifications
(required at time of start)Candidates must have completed fellowship training in a Subspecialty of Surgical Pathology (such as Breast, Head and Neck, Cardiac/Thoracic, Gastrointestinal, Genitourinary, or Gynecologic Pathology) by the start of the appointment.Preferred qualificationsCandidates with a minimum of 3 years of sign-out experience in a subspecialty area of surgical pathology within a subspecialized sign out system are preferred.Application Requirements
