A Spanish Bilingual Family and Children Recreation Specialist is to provide operational support for recreational and art therapeutic programming for at-risk youth. The specialist is also responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing recreational programs and activities to enhance community engagement and well-being. Duties include coordinating events, managing facilities, and promoting participation in recreational offerings. Requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and a passion for fostering a healthy and active lifestyle within the community.
Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Salary Range for
Recreational Services Specialist : $19.23/hr. Pay commensurate with experience.Full-time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Recreational Services Specialist Responsibilities Include:Exhibits cultural sensitivity/humility and provides culturally responsive programming.Manages all active recreation services and facilities to provide the community with the highest level of service possible.Responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily maintenance, scheduling and uses of all recreation facilities (indoor and outdoor).Ensures that programming and services are accessible and meet the needs of all individuals and abilities.Ensures daily age-appropriate recreational programming: talent shows, arts, and youth sports.Directs development and delivery of structured children's activity daily.Facilitates ongoing communication with team members to achieve effective and efficient program operations.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Recreational Services Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:Knowledge of childhood development preferred.Highly effective communication skills.Knowledge of screening and assessments related to child development and to child and caregiver functioning.High School Diploma and experience in recreation preferred.Ability to develop tactical and strategic plans, goals, and objectives.Strong organization, planning and communication skills.Strong commitment to physical and mental education - including the ability to participate in these activities daily.Ability to lift items over 20 pounds.Past applicable job experience may include, but is not limited to: Recreation Program Coordinator, Parks and Recreation Coordinator, or Recreation Supervisor.Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
