Job DescriptionThe EHS Director - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:Develop and implement the company's EHS strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.Lead EHS initiatives that promote a safe and sustainable work environment.Set long-term goals for EHS compliance, risk management, and employee safety engagement.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDA, and other relevant agencies.Stay updated on emerging regulations and industry best practices, proactively adjusting programs as needed.Foster a strong safety culture by developing programs to increase employee awareness, engagement, and accountability.Design and oversee training programs for employees, supervisors, and managers on EHS best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.Oversee and conduct regular risk assessments, hazard analyses, and workplace inspections to identify potential hazards and control measures.Lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes for accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents.Implement and monitor incident tracking systems and ensure timely reporting.Develop and oversee environmental programs, including hazardous waste management, air emissions control, water conservation, and energy efficiency initiatives.Drive sustainability efforts across operations, supporting corporate environmental goals and reducing the company's environmental footprint.Oversee the management of process safety risks related to pharmaceutical manufacturing operations, ensuring the safe handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement and monitor process safety programs and preventive maintenance strategies.Lead internal EHS audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.Prepare for and manage external audits from regulatory agencies, ensuring that the company passes all inspections and assessments.Ensure timely submission of EHS-related reports to regulatory bodies.Maintain accurate records and documentation for all safety programs, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions.Collaborate with other departments such as Quality, Operations, HR, and Facilities to integrate EHS into all company processes and projects.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in environmental, safety, health, or related field.10+ years of experience in Environmental, Safety and Health; Preferably with a manufacturing environment.Knowledge of Rhode Island Environmental Regulatory Programs is a plus.Thorough knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910 and 1926.Thorough working knowledge in confined space, hot work, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, lab safety, respiratory protection, OSHA record keeping and reporting, and emergency procedures.Experience in environmental programs including RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and regulatory compliance.Experience in negotiations with regulatory agencies and waste disposal.Environmental auditing of facilities and waste.The successful EHS Director - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:Base Salary of $130,000-$175,000 depending on experience.Bonus.401K Match.PTO.Health, Dental, Vision.Relocation Package if needed.If this role is of interest to you do not hesitate to apply or reach out to me directly!
