Role Overview We are seeking an experienced
Director of Operations
to lead our Mechanical Assembly, Loading Room, and Planning departments. This role will play a pivotal part in driving operational efficiency and growth, introducing capital improvements, and implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership : Oversee day-to-day operations and cross-train teams across Mechanical Assembly, Loading Room, and Planning.
Resource Planning : Ensure staffing meets current and future production needs; lead the Planning team in transitioning to D365 and PowerBI for planning activities, supporting year-over-year revenue growth.
Efficiency and Investment : Identify and implement capital equipment investments that enhance production and provide a positive ROI.
Lean Manufacturing : Lead Lean initiatives, emphasizing improved cycle times, 5S practices, and waste reduction.
Inventory and Cost Management : Establish systems that support accurate cost recording, forecasting, and tracking of manufacturing orders.
Safety and Compliance : Maintain the highest safety standards and ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations, including the Safe Explosives Act (2003) as required by ATF.
Requirements: Requirements:
Experience : Minimum of 7 years in management within a fast-paced, manufacturing environment; aerospace or energetic materials experience preferred.
Education : Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Physics) or equivalent technical experience.
Technical Proficiency : Proficient in Microsoft Office, Dynamics D365, and PowerBI; experience with CRM systems is a plus.
Leadership : Proven ability to lead, develop teams, and work cross-functionally to achieve results.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The role requires some standing, walking, and manual handling, as well as close vision work.
