DescriptionThe Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in Marketing beginning in Fall 2025. This position is contingent upon state funding. Qualified applications must have a doctorate in Marketing or a related field granted by August 2025.

We are seeking candidates with a teaching and research interest in the areas of consumer insights, consumer behavior, or customer experience management. Candidates must demonstrate experience in and/or commitment to teaching.

Applicants should possess a strong research interest and capability, evidenced by a history of or potential for professional growth. This includes regular publication in quality, refereed journals, participation in professional conferences, and an active, innovative research agenda. Candidates must also demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with the business community.

The SDSU Fowler College of Business, one of the nation’s oldest and largest AACSB-accredited business schools, has a significant regional, national, and international impact. The Marketing Department’s faculty are active in research areas including consumer behavior, marketing management, strategy, and sales management, with expertise in experience design, sensory marketing, digital marketing, marketing analytics, societal impact, and sustainability.

The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule for Assistant Professors and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $138,000 to $142,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances. San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
