This position has flexibility to report to and work from the Washington, DC office or to work-from-home (i.e. remote).

JOB SUMMARY

The Grant Coordinator supports SIDO members with grant applications, general grant procedures and management, provides oversight of compliance reporting, prepares and delivers educational seminars, while assisting the Executive Director with operational support, work with the financial team to track invoices and payments, maintain files, and provides additional support as needed with daily tasks, scheduling and member outreach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

State Trade Expansion Program (75% of time)

Acquire deep knowledge of the State Trade Expansion Program (STEP) administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA);

Provide operational support and oversight of the STEP awards of member states, including grant management and compliance reporting;

Lead, prepare and review financial information for member STEP grants;

Proactively provide STEP technical expertise and guidance to members on a day-to-day basis or as required;

Prepare and deliver an annual STEP training program;

Review documents to determine completeness, accuracy, and proper authorizations;

Resolves or assists in resolving financial discrepancies;

Maintain files related to the member STEP grants with developed internal controls for optimum transparency.

Administrative Assistance (25% of time)

Support the Executive Director with operational procedures, scheduling, conference logistics and other administrative tasks;

Oversee financial document processing related to procurement, accounts payable, accounts receivable, grant management, and other purchases;

Provide updates and maintenance to the association's database, communication tools; and website;

Field inquiries and requests from members and refer them to the appropriate team member(s);

Provide member outreach pertaining to initiatives, programs and trainings, as required.

Assist in special projects, as assigned by the Executive Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree and 3-4 years of professional experience with demonstrated knowledge in the business practices and principles of grant management. (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Knowledge of principles of grant administration, financial accounting, budget analysis, and management procedures;

Skill in the development, management, and monitoring of grant programs;

Knowledge and experience managing and complying with regulations for federal grant;

Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, and grant procedures.

Knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliation techniques, including accounts receivable and accounts payable;

Ability to research and interpret grant guidelines, prioritize and organize grants to meet multiple deadlines, and to prepare reports pertaining to grants.

Ability to assess an issue and then formulate a solution and/or a plan.

Ability to oversee and prioritize multiple projects and manage workflow to meet deadlines.

Adaptable to adjust planned work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.

Strong computer software skills including MS products with emphasis on Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, ZOOM platform; project management software, and online grant management tools;

Self-motivated and a team player who demonstrates accountability;

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines;

Exceptional organizational and time management skills;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Ability to present complex information in a concise manner;

Ability to facilitate meetings that foster collaboration among a diverse audience;

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;

Pending funds availability travel to SIDO conferences for grant training and overall conference support.

Ability to interact effectively with diverse people in different contexts and foster equity and inclusion through self-awareness, cultural sensitivity, and valuing others.

COMPENSATION

CSG believes that pay equity and pay transparency advance workplace fairness. Compensation will be equitable and based on experience. The salary range for this position, based in Washington, DC, is $53,000 to $68,000. This salary range is subject to change based on work location and market conditions.
