Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forward.We have an exceptional opportunity for an Area Water Resources Market Sector Leader, focused on developing and delivering water resource management programs and projects. The successful candidate will also support water resource initiatives related to drinking water, wastewater, and water reuse. This role includes both program development and project delivery responsibilities to manage and create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates. This individual will work with HDR’s senior water resources leadership to continue our strategic water resource, water supply, wastewater, and water reuse program growth in North Texas, East Texas, the El Paso area, and Oklahoma. The successful candidate will work directly with clients to formulate project approaches and develop detailed project scopes that meet client expectations. This role will also assist with the identification of sub-consultant arrangements and develop sub-consultant agreements in line with company policies.The candidate will also be responsible for client management while collaborating with business development teams to identify and develop opportunities and pursuits. Services provided may include planning, design, financial analysis, O&M, and alternative delivery. This role will collaborate with our business class practice leaders and professional discipline groups on technical services, marketing, activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and to implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews. As a market sector leader, the successful candidate will participate in internal strategic planning, budgeting, and plan implementation for our area. As a leader and mentor to junior staff, the successful candidate will engage in and encourage technical involvement in industry organizations and functions including presentations and publications. The candidate will also participate in discussions and facilitate lessons learned for project delivery processes, trends, successes, strengths, and weaknesses.Additional Responsibilities:Engage in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews; includes championing and leading pursuits as well as developing submittalsFunction as Project Manager and take responsibility for producing deliverables in addition to management responsibilitiesBe directly involved with private and public clients in marketing, project production and related issuesSee that all work is planned, organized, controlled, and evaluated through proactive project management systemImplement, monitor, and support company policyWork cooperatively with National Directors and marketing staff in local and national marketing and production effortsPerform other duties as neededRequired QualificationsA minimum of 15 years of experience in project management.Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering.Texas PE or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of hire. Maintain engineering registration.Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs for engineering services.Experienced in business development and strategic planning skills with a wide range of client relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.Must be experienced in development and management of diverse technical teams.Ability to work cooperatively with Technical Directors, Market Sector Directors, Business Class Directors, Regional Business Group Director, Area Business Group Managers, Marketing Managers and Area Managers.Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and quality improvement.
