Madhappy uses apparel, events, and experimental retail spaces – including its permanent flagship in West Hollywood – to explore personal expression as a means to an improved state of mind. The brand currently produces a selection of ever-evolving, evergreen classic styles, seasonally available collections, and collaborations. Madhappy supports research and awareness in mental health through The Madhappy Foundation (a 501c(3) non-profit) and writes Local Optimist, a print magazine.About the jobWe are looking to hire a full-time Product Development Assistant for Madhappy. You will be responsible for being the connection between our vendors and the product team, directly contributing to creating the products that make up the Madhappy brand. Learn the full life cycle of a product from concept, sourcing, developing techniques such as dyeing, print, and embroideries, garment sewing, to the finished product.This position requires traveling to and growing relationships with our vendors around LA. This role will report directly to our PD Manager. You must be based in or willing to commute to Los Angeles to be considered for this position.ResponsibilitiesWork closely with design/PD team to schedule daily runs to:Dye houses - to drop off garments for tie dyes, garment dyes, launching lab dips, and shrinkage testsMaterial vendors - assist in sourcing trims and fabricsGarment factories - to aid in garment development or productionHelp in connecting team needs to vendor resourcesOrganize and maintain material libraries and garment archivesReceive and distro packagesHeavy use of Excel/Google SheetsVarious office/admin tasks as neededAbout youQualificationsMust be able to problem solve in the field with minimal supervisionMust have great interpersonal skills to develop relationships with material vendors and factories around the LA areaGood time management and critical thinking skillsMust be flexible and able to work with a fluid scheduleOutstanding attention to detailMust have a car and valid driver's licenseRelated experience in garments preferred (retail, fashion program enrollment)CharacteristicsProactive and an independent problem solverPassion for the brand and mental health, a plusBenefits15 days PTO, and 9 days sick pay annuallyPaid holidaysHealth, dental, and vision insurance with 75% premium coverage by MadhappyRetirement plans available$600 quarterly health stipendsEmployee discount and early access to productsCompensation: $18 - $20 an hourAbout MadhappyLearn more about our initiatives including Local Optimist, The Madhappy Podcast & The Madhappy Foundation below and via
