Established in 1990, Europe Express provides high-quality, custom travel to Europe for their North American clients. The company serves both private group and FIT leisure markets, working exclusively with travel advisors to book everything from air and rail to hotels and sightseeing tours.
The OpportunityWe are seeking an expert and motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will build, support, strengthen, and manage relationships with our travel agency and advisor partners, with a strong focus on increasing revenue and advisor engagement. By expanding profitable channels, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping us meet and exceed our company’s revenue objectives.
Territory:
Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, Southern NV, and Hawaii (primary focus on Southern California and Arizona)
What You Will Be Doing:
Identify and cultivate relationships with new travel agencies and advisors, focusing on strategic accounts within preferred consortia or host account affiliations.
Lead and strengthen relationships with existing accounts and advisors to enhance performance.
Develop and implement a sales strategy to achieve growth targets for your territory, prioritizing agencies based on efficiency and growth potential.
Serve as the primary contact for accounts and advisors in your designated territory.
Represent the company at trade shows and sales events within your region, as well as at national events as needed. Host familiarization (FAM) trips and coordinate with the VP of Sales & Partnerships and Director of Host Accounts for event participation.
Use HubSpot for customer management and internal communications.
Collaborate closely with the Groups & FIT inside sales teams to amplify sales efforts and leverage contacts.
Assist with resolving customer service issues and relay service feedback to management.
Provide insights for the creation of sales collateral, webinars, presentations, emails, newsletters, and other marketing communications.
Maintain a comprehensive advisor database to support marketing initiatives.
Prepare and update sales and territory plans regularly.
Handle travel expenses and discretionary marketing budgets according to policy; complete expense and trip reports.
What We Are Looking For:
3-5+ years in the travel industry with proven success in a sales role managing a multi-state territory, agency accounts, and territory development. Existing relationships with travel consortia advisors/agencies and Host agency consultants are required.
Strong commercial acumen, with an understanding of wholesale tour operations, including commission structures, marketing plans, incentives, and overrides.
Excellent public speaking and presentation skills; comfort with live and virtual presentations for various audiences, including webinars.
Familiarity with social media for connecting with Travel Advisors and ICs preferred.
Knowledge of the European leisure travel market and destinations preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, and familiarity with presentation software (GOTO webinars preferred).
Experience with Hubspot is an asset.
Must be able to travel frequently (50%+ of the time), including frequent overnight domestic and occasional international travel.
