Elizabeth City Health & Rehabilitation is currently seeking a
Maintenance Director . The Maintenance Director will assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of supervising and carrying out the maintenance tasks for the facility.
Responsibilities include:
Handle day-to-day maintenance functions of the facility and supervise maintenance assistant(s), if applicable.
Coordinate routine services in coordination with the Administrator and/or Director of Nursing.
Complete necessary reports and forms.
Oversee any outside vendors/contracted staff as agreed upon with the Administrator.
Manage ID codes and passwords to facility secured doors.
Implement recommendations from the Infection Control and Safety or QA committees as necessary.
Attend department and staff meetings as directed.
Assist in the orientation and training of new hires.
Adhere to department policies and procedures.
Assign maintenance personnel to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments that are completed per manufacturers' guidelines and/or department standards.
Attend and participate in annual facility in-service trainings as scheduled - OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, Life Safety.
Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) for hazardous chemicals throughout the facility.
Conduct routine inspections of assigned work areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained.
Recommend equipment and supply needs to the Administrator.
Education:
Must possess a minimum of a high school education or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will be motivated and able to work well with residents, families, employees, and vendors. Experience in a maintenance department in a health-related setting is preferred; must have the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Maintenance Department.
