to people around the world.Here, you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission.OBJECTIVES:Join Takeda as a Manager, Lab Operations where you will be part of team dedicated to supporting the labs and scientists of Research and Development.The goal is to manage and optimize the lab operation processes in order to create an efficient lab space for our scientists.Through collaboration with other supporting functions, the position is responsible for day-to-day lab operations including oversight of equipment, consumables, safety, lab moves, and facilities within the department.You will report to the Associate Director of Lab Operations and will work closely with Facilities, IT, Quality, EH&S, Finance, Procurement, and multiple externals including Service Providers and Supply Vendors.ACCOUNTABILITIES:Point of contact in lab operations for scientists in the team you support in Cambridge and internal department lab operations stakeholders and internal partners including Facilities, Space Planning, EH&S, and Procurement.Partner with Inventory management team to assist with oversight of vendor managed inventory for labs you support to ensure system and products meet end user requirements.Partner with Asset management to track equipment inventory and services including calibration, maintenance, service contract renewal, software/hardware upgrades, decommissioning, and moves for existing equipment.Interfaces with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), as well as third parties involved in laboratory waste removal and disposal.Manages lab space allocation for new and existing scientists (coordinating with operations, EHS, and space planning).Coordinates routine cleaning of the lab space.Assists with import/export logistics for lab related items.Responsible for independently scheduling and managing end user requests for utility upgrades, modifications, and installations.Manage and administrate integrated systems and platforms.Identify opportunities and establish and lead initiatives to optimize processes and improve service level of lab operations within R&D. Manage mid-size projects in this area.Develop and monitor key performance indicators and matrices to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:Associates degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science and 7+ years relevant industry experience orBachelors degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 5+ years relevant industry experience orMasters degree in chemistry, biology, pharmacy, engineering or related pharmaceutical science; 3+ years relevant industry experience.Appropriate laboratory training.Lab operations experience including support of a team’s facility, EH&S, equipment, and stocking needs.Experience in a chemistry lab setting preferred.Strong organizational and communication skills, with an attention to detail. Ability to express one’s self clearly and concisely within team.Documents issues and/or concerns concisely with colleagues; timely and effectively communicates issues to upper and direct management. Can think strategically during critical activities.Strong team member with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently, as well as project teams.Independent and self-motivated individual. Works well in a cross-functional team environment.Ability to develop self, as well as manage critical operational issues as they arise. Is able to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Analytical and Problem Solving Skills: Able to troubleshoot critical issues or problems and resolve routine issues using appropriate information.Project Management: Able to initiate, manage, plan, execute, control, and close concurrent projects within given timelines.Requires in-depth interactions with scientists from various departments and external vendors.Familiarity with the administration of environmental chamber response systems, chemical tracking system, and sample management and inventory system preferred.This position is currently classified as “hybrid” in accordance with Takeda’s Hybrid and Remote Work policy.Empowering Our People to ShineDiscover more at

Boston, MAU.S. Base Salary Range:

96,600.00 - 151,800.00The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives.
