We’re a high-growth, venture-backed startup based in NYC and are actively scaling our company.About the RoleAs our VP of Finance and Operations, you will be a key member of our leadership team. You will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and operational functions of the company. You will lead strategic planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, operational management, and fundraising efforts. We're looking for someone with a strong background in both finance and operations, with a proven track record of successfully guiding startups through Series A and beyond. In this role, you will report directly to the CEO.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Planning, Management, and Analysis:Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysisOversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAPManage cash flow, treasury functions, and working capital to ensure liquidity and financial stabilityProvide strategic financial and operational recommendations to the CEO and executive team based on financial analysis and projectionsFundraising and Investor Relations:Collaborate with the CEO to secure additional funding rounds, including Series B and beyondOversee the preparation of financial documents and due diligence materials for prospective investorsManage relationships with existing investors, preparing and presenting financial reports and updatesOperational Oversight:Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness across all departmentsCoordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance and support growthManage resources, including human capital, technology, and infrastructure, to ensure optimal allocation and utilizationLead initiatives to enhance operational workflows, reduce costs, and improve overall company performanceRequirements for the RoleBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred10+ years of experience in finance and operations, including experience in a high-growth startup environment, preferably in the digital health or technology sectorsAdvanced proficiency in financial software tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, FP&A tools)Exceptional communication, writing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present to various stakeholdersStrong operational management and process improvement skillsAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environmentOur CultureAt Alaffia, we fundamentally believe that the whole is more valuable than the sum of its individual parts.
