We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sourcing Manager specializing in case goods to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be one of the first hires in a newly established function, where you will play a critical role in shaping our sourcing strategy for the case goods category. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of experience in sourcing, with a strong background in case goods, and will be comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, and establishing processes from the ground up.Who We AreAt Bob's, we have fun, we love what we do, and it shows in our expansive growth! We are one of the fastest growing omni-channel furniture retailers in the country with 165 stores in 24 states.Job ResponsibilitiesStrategic Sourcing & Supplier Management:
Collaborate closely with the Merchandising team to understand product needs and trends, ensuring that supplier strategies align with the company's product roadmap.Develop and execute sourcing strategies for materials and products that align with the company's overall business objectives.Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and drive vendor management strategies to improve vendor performance and strategic alignment.Support the negotiation of vendor contracts and terms, and work with the Merchandising team to develop product cost strategies that drive value for the company.
Supplier Prospecting & Process Development:
Proactively identify and engage with potential new suppliers, expanding the company's sourcing options.Lead the vetting process for new suppliers, including capability assessments, domestic and international site visits, and compliance checks.Establish and refine sourcing processes, including supplier qualification, RFQ/RFP processes, and performance monitoring. Ensure that these processes support the ongoing product development activities driven by the Merchandising team.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with the Merchandising team to ensure sourcing strategies meet the evolving needs of the product development pipeline.Support the Merchandising team in product development activities by ensuring that supplier capabilities and material availability align with design and production timelines.Actively work with Merchandising, Quality Assurance, and Planning to troubleshoot production issues and drive favorable outcomes for the company.Partner with Planning, Quality Assurance, and the Supply Chain teams to ensure that sourcing strategies meet the broader needs of the business.
Operational Excellence & Supplier Performance:
Monitor and manage supplier performance, including quality, delivery, and service levels.Continuously seek opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the overall value of the sourcing function.Run regular testing exercises to ensure suppliers meet cost and quality expectations, adjusting as needed to maintain BDF's high standards.
Leadership & Change Management:
Lead efforts to establish the sourcing function within the organization, including setting goals, defining metrics, and reporting on performance.Act as a change agent, driving the adoption of new processes and systems to enhance sourcing capabilities.Mentor and guide junior team members, providing training and support as needed.
Required Education and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred by not required.5-10 years of experience in sourcing, with at least 3 years in case goods or related industries.Proven experience in supplier management, negotiation, and contract management.Experience managing domestic and international vendors and manufacturers.Strong understanding of case goods- materials, construction, manufacturing processes, and manufacturing market trends.Demonstrated ability to establish and implement sourcing processes in a dynamic and evolving environment.Proficiency in procurement software and tools.Expected Base Pay Not Including Potential Commissions, Incentive, Bonus, etc. Opportunities:$100,000 - $130,000
