S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS), USPIS Criminal Investigations Service Center (CISC) Financial Investigative Unit, and live investigations by performing data extraction, analysis, conversion and conducting investigative scanning and other financial investigative support activities. Data conversion and data extraction may be executed through a variety of software tools, programming languages or processes in order to produce results that are useful to investigators. This work may also include bates stamping, indexing, and OCRing files for creation of searchable pdf files and/or database load files. The Data Extraction and Conversion Analyst certifies all deliverables against a project plan to ensure requirements and project deadlines are met.What you’ll be part of –Review and evaluate project and case background data to determine case type and identify best course of action to complete assigned projectsPrepare and organize documents to be processedUtilize high-speed scanners and scanner software to scan and export financial and investigative documents and convert to them to digital filesPerform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews to ensure all documents were properly processed and ensure that data is digitized in correct format to ensure image quality and integrityEvaluate projects to determine best software to employ or whether a customized solution would best serve the project; develops customized analytic solutionsFacilitate meetings with Investigators or field analysts to discuss case, identify analytic needs, and develop project timeline and progress reportsExtract data from hard copy and electronic sources and coverts data to make it compatible with different software or systems to produce reports in various formats such as Excel spreadsheetsProduce standardized or customized reports in accordance with project planPerform analysis to identify anomalies, trends, and patterns to aid in resolving investigative cases. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications:Associate degree, Information Technology or Systems, Criminal Justice, Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Programming, Analytics, Data Science or other related field.Three years’ work experience in a related field.Ability to utilize data extraction software to extract/capture data from various formats including, but not limited to, PDF, MS Word, Excel, HTML, CSV, MSG, and any text file.Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software sufficient to develop briefings and presentations for managers at all levels of the organization.Ability to analyze financial and other data, report results, to draw insights and make recommendations based on the findings.The Work Environment –Bachelor’s Degree, Information Technology or Systems, Criminal Justice, Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Programming, Analytics, Data Science or other related field.Experience with SIMX, PDF2XL, Python, SQL, and/or other programming languages.Experience using Adobe Pro and OCR Software sufficient to convert scanned files, PDF files, and image files into editable/searchable documents.Familiar with Financial Analytics Software (e.g., Comprehensive Financial Investigative Solution, Bank Scan, I-Sight) sufficient to analyze financial data, identifying trends and anomalies, and produce reports.Five years’ work experience in a related field.Physical Demands –Bachelor’s Degree, Information Technology or Systems, Criminal Justice, Business, Finance, Accounting, Math, Programming, Analytics, Data Science or other related field.Experience with SIMX, PDF2XL, Python, SQL, and/or other programming languages.Experience using Adobe Pro and OCR Software sufficient to convert scanned files, PDF files, and image files into editable/searchable documents.Familiar with Financial Analytics Software (e.g., Comprehensive Financial Investigative Solution, Bank Scan, I-Sight) sufficient to analyze financial data, identifying trends and anomalies, and produce reports.Five years’ work experience in a related field.Apply This Job
