Assigned programs may change as necessary. The Associate Director functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team within the community, crisis, and prevention programs department.SALARY$88,000EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONSMaster's or Doctoral Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field plus at least 5 years of experience with behavioral health service delivery to children, adolescents and families is required. Access free and confidential counseling through our Employee Assistance Program (EAP)ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInterfaces and collaborates with internal and external departments, funders and providers regarding best practices and triages clinical needs. Identifies barriers and brings them to Director’s attention. Effectively addresses issues with internal and external departments, funders and providers as assigned.Promotes the use of evidence-based, trauma-informed relational approaches/models of intervention with youth and families and throughout programs.Focuses on program and quality improvement by identifying, developing, and successfully implementing new program initiatives and protocols to meet the department and clinic goals in conjunction with senior leadership.Attends and participates in internal and external meetings as assigned, including all required DMHAS and DCF meetings as relevant for respective programs, Multi-Service System meetings and agency committees. Coordinates and leads staff and departmental trainings and meetings including mandatory training per licensing, contractor, and agency requirements and as assigned.Provides and oversees administrative, programmatic, and clinical supervision and service delivery for assigned programs. Ensures all activities are completed as required by program(s), agency, licensing and contractor requirements’ protocols and procedures.Provides administrative oversight of assigned direct reports. Provides direct oversight and supervision for teams, as assigned.Ensures that all staff provide culturally competent care and maintain sensitivity to and respect for clients’ cultural traditions, values, and beliefs.Assists with budget development. Provides budgetary oversight of assigned programs, including monitoring use of overtime and additional/outside staffing per departmental protocol. Attends budget variance meetings and provides information related to identified variances.Provides 24 hour clinical and program on-call coverage according to standards mandated by licensing and regulatory agencies and as assigned. May be required to respond to programs in person during evenings, weekends and holidays on an emergency basis.Completes and monitors quality, timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of program documentation; Stays abreast of approaching deadlines and ensures that deadlines are not missed. Uses available tools including reports and audits to ensure documentation meets agency, licensing, and contractor requirements. When necessary, will take direct action to ensure compliance.Reports child abuse and neglect as mandated and adheres to confidentiality guidelines.Oversees and participates with the recruitment, hiring, disciplinary actions, and retention of staff as assigned.Trains and participates in emergency safety interventions authorized and approved by the agency and contractor.Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture.
