Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with at least 12 years of expertise to lead a team of 8 engineers in designing and overseeing complex mechanical systems for vertical structures such as buildings, towers, and cooling towers. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, project management capabilities, and leadership skills to ensure the delivery of innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities:Mechanical System Design:Lead the design and integration of mechanical systems for high-rise buildings, commercial facilities, and parking garages.Optimize HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems for energy efficiency and performance.Develop designs for towers and cooling towers, incorporating advanced technologies for enhanced durability.Oversee mechanical design for parking structures and automotive facilities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.Leadership & Team Management:
Manage, mentor, and guide a team of 8 engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.Delegate tasks to ensure high-quality output and timely delivery.Lead project meetings and provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams.Project Management:
Manage multiple large-scale projects, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.Prepare project proposals, cost estimates, and risk assessments.Coordinate efforts across different engineering disciplines to ensure cohesive project execution.Problem Solving & Innovation:
Lead troubleshooting initiatives during construction and operation phases.Implement innovative designs to reduce energy consumption and improve system efficiency.Stay abreast of the latest technologies and methodologies to enhance project outcomes.Compliance & Safety:
Ensure designs comply with regulations and building codes such as ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, and IBC.Conduct quality control checks to ensure robustness and safety in all mechanical designs.Communication & Collaboration:
Collaborate with structural engineers, electrical engineers, architects, and construction teams.Clearly communicate complex engineering concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Provide regular updates on project progress and technical challenges to internal teams and clients.Qualifications:
Licensed or ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY and NJ.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, focusing on vertical structures like buildings, towers, and parking garages.Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams.Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.Familiarity with building codes and safety regulations (ASHRAE, ASME, NFPA, IBC).Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.Benefits:
