Quality Assurance Manager
opportunity in
Eunice, NM
at the
Urenco USA (UUSA) National Enrichment Facility .
Work Location: On-Site at UrencoTravel: 10% of the time or less/as requiredClearance Requirement: Ability to obtain DOE L or Q level clearanceCitizenship: United States Citizenship required.
UUSA, operated by Louisiana Energy Services LLC, is the only commercial enrichment facility operating in the US, and is located in Eunice, New Mexico.
Duties:This position will serve as the Quality Assurance Manager for the
Quality Assurance Program at Urenco USA. This position interfaces with employees and managers at all levels of the Organization and externally with vendors and governmental agencies.
In addition to oversight of the technical QA and QC personnel, duties may include:
Leads and/or provides technical input and oversight during the development of audit schedules, plans and checklists, performance and closure of independent ASME NQA-1 and ISO audits, surveillances, and inspections of organizations within UUSA and Suppliers outside UUSA;Leads evaluations of defects, deficiencies, discrepancies, non-conforming and non-complying conditions identified during audits, inspections, and surveillances to determine program quality and identify performance trends. This analysis would include all available oversight results, both internal and external, and trending data. Develops and prioritizes actions to take in response to the analysis.Leads the development, maintenance, and monitoring of the Approved Suppliers List to identify qualified suppliers. Ensures the program to monitor supplier performance is established;Leads development of QA and QC Inspection personnel by providing guidance and direction for a variety of work and providing or obtaining training when appropriate to ensure that a capable group of QA auditors and/or QC inspectors exists at all times;Leads the accurate completion of audit reports, evaluations, and technical reports;Leads evaluation of results for audits and inspections and communicate trends to the organization;Leads development and maintenance of QA manuals, implementing procedures, desktop guides to verify compliance with industry codes and standards, NRC regulations and regulatory commitments;Oversees performance of general QC inspections, Receipt inspections, Structural inspections, Weld inspections, NDE inspections, mechanical and/or Electrical inspections. Ensures that inspections are conducted in accordance with applicable procedures, guidance, and regulations;Possesses education, knowledge, and experience sufficient to be certified as a Level II inspector in one or more areas (Mechanical Inspection, Civil Inspection, Receipt Inspection, and Electrical Inspection).Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree with 10 years commensurate experience of which at least three years of experience is at the Senior Contributor level.Preferred: Master's Degree with 15 years commensurate work of which at least three years' experience is at the Senior Contributor level.Supervisory / leadership / management experience.
Essential Skills:
Strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to prioritize and balance multiple projectsStrong computer skills in MS Word, Excel, SAPAbility to maintain independence in daily workMaintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of NRC revisions to regulations, industry codes and standards including, but not limited to, 10CFR50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1, 49CFR, 10CFR71 Subpart H, 10CFR21, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 17025.Maintain qualifications needed for Lead Auditor certification per ANSI N45.2.23, NQA-1, ISO, and site procedure requirements
