ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world's greatest crises in partnership with the church. The organization was founded in the aftermath of World War II to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of war-torn Europe. POSITION SUMMARY:
World Relief seeks an Operations Specialist, Regional for World Relief Chicagoland. This position provides support for maximizing World Relief Chicagoland's resources to optimize its daily operations. Support includes administrative tasks like phone maintenance, business card management and email address management. This position also provides vehicle booking and maintenance support for the staff and interns of the DuPage and Aurora offices and ensures that vehicles are being utilized to their fullest potential in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Note: This position will report to all 3 offices (Aurora, Carol Stream, and Chicago).
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative Assistance:Assist with the implementation of new processes and proceduresAssist with interpreters' orientation as neededPrepare ID badges and office desk signs.Coordinate employee business card development and orderingManage Chicagoland Staff Directory, including quarterly distribution to staffLiaison for cell phone distribution and portal maintenanceMaintain WR email accounts and Distribution lists.Assist with short term projects as necessaryOther duties as assigned by supervisorVehicle Maintenance:Develop, implement, and improve transportation policies and proceduresProcess transportation documentation and monitor drivers' logbook entriesManage vehicle booking software to coordinate vehicle reservation and usageSchedule and oversee regular maintenance and repairs of vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and safetyMonitor compliance with WRC transportation regulations and safety standards.Traffic violation managementLiaise with insurance companies and Home Office where necessaryConduct staff driving testsMaintain Fleet vehicle inventorySafely and successfully drives 10-15 passenger vans.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Mature and personal Christian faithCommitted to the mission, vision, and values of World ReliefDesire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communitiesAble to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Evangelicals For the Health of The Nation documentStrong interpersonal and communication skillsValid driver's license required; 3 years minimumStrong cross-cultural skillsExcellent problem-solving skills, flexibility and adaptabilitySelf-starter with strong initiative and follow-throughStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and stay attentive to detailsFlexible and collaborative team playerProficiency with Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and TeamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience working cross-culturally preferredGeneral knowledge of vehicles and vehicle maintenance.Bachelors degree or equivalent
$22 - $22 an hour
Compensation is commensurate with experience.
