About the Job
The Project Manager, Clinical Development is part of the Clinical Development team within FMI's Medical Department and develops and implements strategic project plans within the Clinical Development group. The incumbent is responsible for planning, facilitating, and executing on projects to provide best-in-class support and deliverables. The position is highly cross-functional and visible within both the Clinical Development and Medical teams.
Regular onsite work at a designated FMI location is an essential function of this role.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Operations/Project Management:Develop and execute project plans to deliver on key strategic initiatives within the Clinical Development group; proactively identify and resolve issues; develop and manage project deliverables; define and track key project metricsPlan and facilitate strategic meetings (e.g., team meetings and offsites); design, implement and track meeting agendas, meeting minutes and action items.Manage the budgets for key strategic initiatives and project plans.Strategic Thought Partnership:Be a thought partner to the Vice President for strategy, project management and goal setting.Provide input into decision-making through strong judgment and the ability to analyze options and implications.Communications:Draft and help execute communication plans and strategy slides.Facilitate external collaborations and cross-functional activities related to assigned projects and other departmental initiatives as required.Team/Relationship Management:Develop and maintain strong relationships with members of Medical leadership team and cross-functionally to drive success of projects and teams.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in science3+ years of professional experience in a project management role, including 1+ years of work experience in the life science or healthcare industry and familiarity with project management methodologies and toolsPreferred Qualifications:
Advanced Degree (MBA or other Master's Degree, PhD, PharmD)Advanced project management certification (PMP or equivalent)Expert project management skills and principles, including scope, schedule, resource, risk management, and experience using project management toolsKnowledge of and work experience with FDA regulated productsExcellent communication and facilitation skillsComfort in front of all levels of the organization, as well as external customersStrong sense of personal accountability, and an unyielding commitment to high quality outcomesDemonstrated ability to coordinate across teams and integrate all aspects of business as they impact development projects, including negotiation of scope, roles and responsibilities, specifications, timelines, and resources up, across, and down in the organizationHistory of influencing within a complex, matrixed environmentAbility to operate in a fast-paced rapid growth organization with a certain degree of ambiguityDemonstrated innovative and flexible approach to problem solving, and collaborationDeep understanding of HIPAA and the importance of patient data privacyCommitment to FMI values: Passion, Patients, Innovation and Collaboration
