Our Utility Workers are responsible for cleaning and event set-up and with helping us to proudly present our wonderful venue to our guests and clients for each and every event. As a premier convention, tradeshow, conference and event venue leader, our number one role is to provide a memorable experience for both shows and guests - experiences you would help shape.

Utility Workers perform set-up and custodial duties for specified events on an on-call basis. Typically hours may average 8 - 24 hours weekly, but actual hours will vary from week to week and with seasonal event volume.

As the Variable hour Event Setup and Custodial Worker, you will:

Perform cleaning and sanitary maintenance duties, including sweeping, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, dusting and emptying trash containers for the entire OCC facility, including loading docks, break rooms and event spaces.Restroom maintenance and cleaning tasks including replenishing towels, tissue and soap. Is proactive during events to make sure these items are stocked.Perform set-up and break down of tables, chairs, bleachers, ramps, dance floors, air walls, staging and hanging drapes as required for conventions, meeting and other OCC events utilizing schematic drawings and narrative descriptions.Provide directions and answers questions from the public.Attributes for Success:Knowledge of

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or GED;

ANDTwo to three year in a similar utility position;

ORAny combination of education and experience which would provide the candidate with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.Possession of or the ability to obtain a forklift operator and CPR certificate within one year of hire.Must be able to work a variety of shifts to meet the needs of the business and be dependable.Must be able to learn the facilities layoutsRequiredA valid driver's license. COMPENSATION, BENEFITS AND REPRESENTATIONThe hourly pay rate for this position is Step 1. $23.81 per hour of the VHE Utility Worker Classification. This position is eligible for overtime and is represented by AFCSME 3580 union and is classified as a Utility Worker (click to read the full classification).
