Salary:$100k-$130k
Summary:
The Plant Manager is accountable for all phases of plant operations including: production, quality control, maintenance, and warehousing. Accountability also includes recruiting, hiring and training personnel and facility/physical plant up-keep and capital improvements. In addition the Plant Manager will be developing for annual budget planning and execution and leading the production team to increase productivity and profitability within the manufacturing operation of Lancaster plant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are considered essential to the job. Qualified individuals must have the ability - with or without reasonable accommodation - to perform the following duties but not limited to:
Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility. Directly supervise seven (7) departments; the Production Department, Warehouse Operations/Receiving Department, Plant Human Resources Department, Quality Control Department, Sanitation Department, Safety Department and Maintenance Department to maximize the operations efficiency of the plant and maintain the plant in compliance with the governing regulations. Manage and control the productivity of the plant to attain standard yields and standard case attainability at 100%. Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity. Work closely with Quality Control Department to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement. Implement and execute procedures to ensure the manufacturing and the facility are in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice as defined CFR Title 21, SQF and other company standards. Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to insure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible. Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality. Assist in development and execution of the plant manufacturing budgets to manage the spending and the capital budget of the plant. Work closely with the Safety department to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies and procedures to provide a safe workplace for our employees. Ensure all required regulations of City, County, State and Federal government agencies and the company standards are maintained and are in compliance. Ensure the plant activities are conformed to the regulations of City, County, State and Federal government agencies and to implement procedures to assure such compliance. Oversee and maintain the security systems, surveillance cameras, access readers, perimeter access, etc. to ensure compliance with our Food Defense programs. Oversee the hiring and training of all manufacturing personnel and analyze workforce requirements. Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operation employees. Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment. Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals. Communicate with research and development as well as product management personnel to develop new product strategies. Work with Purchasing Manager to develop and improve supplier relationships. Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises directly manufacturing functional managers including the production, quality control, maintenance, human resources, sanitation, safety and warehousing. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: • Bachelor Degree in related field with at least 5 years of related experience preferably in food manufacture; or 5 or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices. Previous experience/broad understanding of safety systems and enforcement of safety rules and policies. Knowledge of Japanese companies or Asian business culture is highly preferred. Skills, Knowledge and Ability:
Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point and/or Access) to analyze data and trends. Proficient skills in ERP and MRP databases. Demonstrated strong leadership, team building and advanced coaching skills. Demonstrated ability to motivate people, assess and develop employee skills. Demonstrated understanding of the principles and applications associated with manufacturing operations, maintenance and engineering. Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to balance production and maintenance needs. Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability. A strong ability to be adaptable and flexible. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a team environment. Highly motivated, results oriented, driven. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as statistical inferences, as well as cost accounting and overall accounting principles. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and he general public. Ability to provide clear direction to staff. Ability to define and resolve problems, and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of data instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Physical Demands:
