Due to a recent promotion, we are hiring a
PLANT MANAGER
to join our healthcare services team in
Kansas City, MO!
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday days - occasional weekend support as needed
The Plant Manager is responsible for managing the overall production activities of the plant, including productivity, safety, quality, maintenance, and associate engagement. The Plant Manager ensures a consistent production volume that meets the market's production demands and quality standards in a manner that is consistent with ImageFIRST's operating principles.
RESPONSIBILITIES:The Plant Manager is responsible for formulating, implementing, and supervising processes, product quality, and production improvement methodologies;works closely with senior staff to develop and formulate long and short-range goals and objectivesResponsible for planning, budgeting, and monitoring the plant's production activities; formulating and recommending process improvements that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position in the marketManage spending against budget: controls spending in relation to changes in production volume; and provides relevant information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and dataWork to improve efficiencies by employing Lean Manufacturing or other methodologies to efficiently allocate resources to meet production goals; initiates plans and/or processes which minimize costs, and make the best use of equipment, facilities, materials, manpower, and capitalInitiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)Identify, recommend, and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and waste; monitor scrap and rework data; and ensure manufacturing processes are cost-effectiveThe Plant Manager is responsible for leading and directing Production Supervisors; training and developing supervisors to be effective leaders in the plant, creating a safe and productive production environmentResponsible for associate engagement, including creating a positive work environment in which associates feel appreciated and included; ensuring that associates are communicated to effectively, coached, given constructive feedback geared toward professional growth and/or performance improvement; using positive management techniques to direct the production team and monitors their progress in meeting departmental goals. When warranted the Plant Manager takes corrective/disciplinary action, in a timely manner, and in accordance with company policy, partnering with Human Resources to ensure actions are equitable and consistent with the ImageFIRST's operating principles, policies and procedures, and applicable employment lawsEnsures the effectiveness of the safety program, including completion of training for all associates, an engaged and productive safety committee, and compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, HLAC, etc.)Perform other related duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience requiredRequires a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing managementSolid working knowledge of Lean production management and quality integration concepts and a proven track record of change implementation are requiredAbility to work in a cross-functional team environment with production, purchasing, engineering, sales, quality, finance, human resources and other stake holders within the organization to achieve overall company objectives requiredMust possess excellent organization and time management skills and the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; must be self-directedExperience with production scheduling and quality control systems is requiredMust have knowledge and understanding of financial systems and ability to understand and analyze financial statementsMust have an understanding of Key Performance Indicators and the ability to establish and implement plans to drive resultsExceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, interpret documents, understand procedures and write reportsStrong process orientation: Detail oriented, logical and methodological approach to problem solving; must have the leadership skills necessary to direct employees toward production goals and determine how to correct problems quickly to minimize the loss of production timeExpert in MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and OutlookCompany Values & Benefits
