Originate residential mortgage and home equity loans in support of department and organizational goals. Keep fully informed on mortgage related policies, procedures, and regulations along with industry trends and developments in the real estate market.
1. Originate, develop, and complete residential mortgage and home equity loan applications at a time and location convenient to the borrower.
2. Follow up on all conditions in order to effectively meet contract deadlines, and lock expiration dates. Keep borrowers and all third parties aware of the status and progress of the loan.
3. Build varied sources of referrals, including but not limited to the following: realtors, builders, attorney, settlement companies, accountants, and other centers of influence. Build and maintain relationship with AmeriServ personnel (Retail, Commercial, Trust, etc.)
4. Participate in the execution of the Residential Mortgage Departmental Plan by assisting in meeting or exceeding all individual, department, and corporate production and budget goals. Support ownership interest of Bankers Settlement of Southwest PA, along with referrals to other divisions within AmeriServ.
5. Keep informed and abreast of current industry trends and developments in the real estate market along with mortgage related policies, procedures, and regulations.
6. Actively participate in civic, business, and other community related activities, which provide business development opportunities.
7. Pro-actively seek out opportunities that support the Bank in meeting its CRA responsibilities.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

The employee is frequently required to: 1) Type or otherwise work with fingers; 2) Talk expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers or clients accurately, loudly, or quickly; 3) Hearing - perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with/without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make the discriminations in sound. Operation of a motor vehicle and the ability to adapt to environmental weather conditions, as seasons change.
Sedentary work may require occasionally lifting of up to 10 pounds and/or move up to 25 pounds. This work involves sitting most of the time with walking and sitting.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include: 1) viewing a computer monitor; 2) extensive reading.
Travel:
Extensive travel is expected for this position.

Required Education/Experience:
Minimum High School graduate with related experience in mortgage lending with a minimum of three (3) years combined experience in residential mortgage loan originations, loan processing, underwriting, secondary marketing, real estate sales, leasing, commercial lending, or consumer lending is preferred. Must have strong business development skills.
