Environmental Project Manager
BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program/Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is currently looking for an experienced
Environmental Project Manager
(PM) to support our federal clients. The PM will work directly with existing staff to ensure high-quality/successful planning, execution, and completion of various projects within the financial and schedule expectations. The PM will directly support and report to our federal Program Managers and Federal Portfolio Manager on all aspects of project delivery, including but not limited to: client interface, project and financial tracking, project planning (e.g., subcontractor procurement, document preparation, scheduling, coordination), management and of field investigation and remediation activities, and reporting.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Project management: lead a team of cross-functional professionals to provide our clients with high-quality execution and delivery of agreed upon services within the negotiated budgetary and schedule parametersTrack and manage multiple projects/assignments concurrentlyTrack and present project metrics to the Management TeamGenerate presentations throughout the project lifecycle to brief our clients on all aspects of a project, both from an execution and technical perspectiveDeliver routine presentations to project stakeholders, including the public, related to project activities, schedule, and resultsReview technical documents for detailed analysis of technical approach; implementability of proposed activities; compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; and ability of approach to meet project objectivesProvide proposal preparation and supportLead, mentor, and train junior- and mid-level staff to 1) maximize project execution and 2) prepare our staff for larger roles within the companySupport client management and development through excellent project deliveryFit within all aspects of BB&E cultureKey Qualifications
Experience with PFAS investigations is
requiredAbility to work and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and other project stakeholders; includes demonstrated ability to write effective communications and documents and ability to deliver key messages through verbal communicationProven ability to work effectively with clients and project teams to successfully execute the scope of work in accordance with the client's expectations, while meeting financial and schedule metricsSelf-motivated individual that can independently track and manage multiple projects concurrentlyIndividual with attention to detailAbility to problem solve and function as a member of a studies/remediation Community of Practice (CoP)Experience managing and executing multi-media investigations that include soil, sediment, surface water, pore water, groundwater, soil gas, and indoor airFamiliarity with various drilling methods, including direct-push technology, hollow-stem auger, sonic, rock coring, and air/mud rotaryExperience managing and supporting investigations of a variety of contaminants, including but not limited to, metals, volatile organic compounds, semivolatile organics compounds, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS)Experience with environmental restoration accomplished under the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)Expertise in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Projects, PowerPoint)Experience & Education
10 to 15 years of experience preferredPrevious experience with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force and/or Air National Guard programs is preferredPMP, PE, or PG is highly desiredBA/BS degree is
required ; MA/MS degree is preferredOSHA 40-Hour Certification with current 8-hour refresher will be
requiredPhysical Requirements
Must be able to travel to meet clients, attend conferences, and conduct site visitsMust be able to walk, sit, and/or stand for extended periods of timeAble to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc.Capable of light lifting, under 10 lbs.Able to work on-site 2-3 days a weekWorking conditions:Able to work both indoor/outdoor (with exposure to temperature extremes and elements [rain, snow/ice, sun])Able to walk/climb/knee/crouch and reachAble to wear the required PPE; typically using gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, and steel toe bootsExposure to hazards/contaminants at times
