The Illinois College Nursing Program seeks a dynamic, detail-oriented individual to join colleagues dedicated to developing excellent future nurses. This position includes a variety of responsibilities to coordinate the nursing program, including tracking student progress, managing budgets, supporting all program faculty, and maintaining and submitting required reports to the Illinois Board of Nursing and the national accreditor, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The Coordinator is a critical team member ensuring the smooth operation and overall excellence of the IC Nursing program.
Essential Functions:The following list of duties is meant to be representative of the work performed in this position. The omission of a specific duty or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical extension of position responsibilities.Ensure program compliance with state and CCNE requirementsRetain records on program completers and provide verification of completionTrack students' progress as they move through the nursing program; checking that they have met all requirements for graduation and eligibility for NCLEX licensure;Respond to questions from prospective, current and past students and IC faculty and administrationObtain, compile and analyze data on program assessmentsComplete all annual state and federally mandated reports and required auditsMaintain the Nursing Program handbook and assist in the completion/updating of other manuals and handbooksKeep records of faculty expenses and track the budgetWork closely with the Director of Nursing to set agenda and priorities for bi-monthly department meetingsTake and write up minutes for department and committee meetingsMaintain files on all studentsQualifications:
Excellent knowledge of databases and spreadsheets (especially Excel), electronic reporting, and organization of electronic dataProficient with Microsoft Office; strong word processing data management abilitiesBachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experienceIntercultural competence; ability to work with individuals from diverse backgroundsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenExperience with and understanding of accreditation and reporting processes and standards preferredAbility to deal with confidential informationCapacity to take initiative where appropriate: a self-starter
