As a RN Supervisor, you will carry out our Mission of Love by ensuring the care of our residents is provided in a safe, caring, timely, and appropriate manner by maintaining the appropriate competencies and skills through continuing education that encompasses all of these areas. This will include assisting our residents in reaching or attaining the highest potential in their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
Our RN Supervisor is responsible for the following:
Monitors nursing care by visiting residents routinely to ensure continuity and continual evaluation of care as related to the IDCP and physician's orders. Assesses resident's condition and nursing care needs, assures that medications, treatments, and care are being provided as ordered or specified on the IDCP. Maintains appropriate documentation of nursing observations, including follow-up documentation in the medical record in accordance with acceptable medical standards of practice. Prepares equipment and assists physician during rounds or special treatments and examinations of residents. Provides direct resident care and transports residents to activities and appointments as time permits. Answers call lights promptly. Performs glucometer readings, EKG's and other testing as needed.Notifies physician of change in resident's condition according to policy and acceptable professional standards. Notifies family of change in resident's condition or hospitalization according to policy. Report to oncoming staff on the next shift concerning the condition of the resident or any unusual occurrences.Pronounces death in the absence of physician and make all appropriate notifications and documentation.Assures that drug counts between shifts are done by assigned personnel.Maintains standards of nursing care and implements the policies and procedures of the Masonic Village and nursing department.Supervise professional and non-professional nursing personnel providing care at Masonic Villages. This includes coaching employees and groups of employees to enhance their performance and commitment. Assist employee to develop skills needed to achieve optimal performance and strong performance in their role.Resolves resident, family, and employee conflict by utilizing continuous quality improvement efforts, multi-disciplinary strategies, problem solving skills and conflict management. Makes decisions based on evaluation of outcomes and communicates the results effectively so that residents, family members and employees understand the reasons behind the decision.Demonstrates commitment to assist in nursing recruitment and retention efforts. Welcomes and participates in the orientation of new nursing department personnel.Maintains nursing license and knowledge of OSHA, Department of Health regulations and other local, state, and federal regulations. Attend in-service programs to remain knowledgeable of nursing practice in long-term care.Communicates effectively and in a non-aggressive manner with residents, family members, visitors, and co-workers. Establishes and maintains collaborative communication with physicians, other health professionals and Masonic Village departments.Maintains CPR certification and initiates CPR and/or emergency measures in accordance with Masonic Village policies and medical directives.Functions as an advocate for the resident and resident's family by supplying and interpreting information supporting decisions and facilitating communications. Participates in resident and family education as planned through the ID team.Practice fiscal responsibility in the use of supplies, equipment and management of personnel and time.Assist with medication pass when there is a call out that cannot be replaced or during an emergency.Acts as facility Charge Nurse as required.Qualified RN Supervisors will have:
Graduation from as accredited School of Nursing (Registered Nurse)Current RN licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing required.CPR certification prior to or upon employmentPrevious leadership experience preferred but not essential. Long term care or geriatric nursing experience preferred.Computer skills required. Experience with an electronic medical record preferred.
