Job Overview:
Lord Abbett seeks a motivated and experienced individual to join its Fixed Income group as a Portfolio Manager of CLO Tranche securities. The portfolio manager would contribute to the management of our growing multi-sector, securitized product, and alternatives strategies. This individual will be part of the Specialty Finance Team and will interact with investment and client service professionals across the firm. The role will include an opportunity to manage CLO tranche investments within a wide range of risk mandates while operating in a flat and dynamic team setting. In addition to contributing to the management of the firm's $8 Billion in CLO tranches, it is expected that this role will also involve new product development, fund raising, and client interaction.
We'll trust you to:
Collaborate with Specialty Finance personnel to oversee our CLO portfolioBe responsible for security selection of CLO tranches for High Quality, Leveraged Credit, Alternatives, and Equity-Oriented portfoliosInteract with portfolio managers and external parties to source CLO investments for all mandates, taking into account mandate suitabilityArticulate a market view and assist in investment decision making, portfolio positioning, sizing, and risk managementWork with the team to make recommendations on primary and secondary market opportunitiesCommunicate sector level commentary & ideas to the broader team, department, and other firmwide stakeholdersBuild and maintain relationships with investors, counterparties, and other market participantsMake formal recommendations on capital markets activity for retained equity of Lord Abbett CLOs to the head of Specialty Finance and contribute to the management of the Lord Abbett Captive CLO Equity FundAssist in client engagement, creation of marketing materials, and product development related to the CLO asset classYou'll need to have:
High motivation to learn, develop and mentor as a senior investor in a collaborative environment15+ years of industry experience with meaningful experience taking principal risk in CLO tranche securities across the capital structureA combination of buy-side and sell-side experience preferredExcellent quantitative, communication, and investment management skillsAbility to articulate investment objectives in a clear and concise manner with internal and external constituents.Advanced written and verbal communication skillsAdvanced Excel, Intex, and PowerPoint skills with a proficiency in scenario based financial modelingBA/BS degree requiredMBA or MS degrees, CFA designation viewed positively, but not requiredWhy Lord Abbett?

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $225,000 - $250,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
