Cobol Developer

Job Summary

The COBOL Developer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining COBOL programs. This role requires strong knowledge of COBOL and related mainframe technologies, as well as experience in preparing software specifications, test plans, and performing quality assurance reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience in financial services and be capable of performing lead analyst duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, code, test, debug, document, and maintain COBOL programs

• Prepare detailed software specifications and test plans

• Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure software meets established standards

• Collaborate with team members and support software development and maintenance tasks

• Perform lead analyst role, if applicable

Required Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in software development and support in COBOL

• Preferred or equivalent experience in information systems

• Practical experience with COBOL, JCL, DB2, IDMS, and EXPEDITER

• Familiarity with CICS, MQ, and FileAid

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services industry

• Knowledge of CA7, NDM/sFTP, Java, and MongoDB

• Experience with Autosys, Agile methodologies, and ISPW
