ECS is looking for a

Senior Linux Administrator , providing support to our national laboratory customer in

Albuquerque, NM .

**5,000 sign on bonus**

As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will work with a team that provides computing capabilities and in-depth support for scientific and engineering applications. The team builds and maintains user environments, delivers subject matter expert support, and application-level software and tools to the scientific and engineering communities.

As a Senior Linux Administrator, you will need an extensive background in Linux server administration and issue resolution along with strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills. Experience with Bash shell scripting, experience/knowledge working with Containers, and finally, knowledge and understanding of best practices and IT operations.

DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITES/TASKS INCLUDE:

Perform Linux Administration dutiesPerform installations and patching of Linux operating systemsAssist customers with the installation and updates of applicationsInstall software and troubleshoot software install issuesMonitor systems and preform hardware troubleshooting, tracking, resolution, and routine maintenance and security updatesPerform system backups and provide data recoveryBS/BA degree with a minimum two years' experience with Linux administration and troubleshootingProven track record of problem solving using strong critical thinking, analytical and troubleshooting skillsStrong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independentlyMinimum two years' experience with Linux (RedHat or Ubuntu) and are capable of OS installation, network configuration, and package/patch managementWorking knowledge and experience with bash shell scripting and other languages (Python, Perl, or Ruby)Experience with Ansible and Ansible playbook creationAbility to work seamlessly within a team as an active contributorStrong verbal and written customer service and communications skillsKnowledge of, and desire to follow IT Operations best practices and procedures such as issue management and incident responseFamiliar with information security best practices
