Job Summary:
Dedicated and experienced PM Shift Production Supervisor oversees, leads, guides, mentors, trains and develops the evening production operations at our grain and spice food packaging plant.This role is crucial in ensuring that our products are packaged efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The PM Shift Production Supervisor will lead a team of production workers, ensuring compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise Production Activities:Oversee the daily operations of the PM shift, ensuring all production goals are met.
Team Leadership:Mentor, and motivate a team of production workers, providing guidance and support to maintain high performance and morale.
Quality Control:Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications, conducting regular inspections and audits.
Safety Compliance:Enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct safety meetings and ensure all team members adhere to safety guidelines.
Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Training and Development:Train, coach and mentor new employees and provide ongoing training for existing staff to ensure they are skilled and knowledgeable about their roles.
Inventory Management:Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate supply of raw materials and packaging supplies.
Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and quality issues. Prepare and submit reports to the Production Manager.
Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate with maintenance staff to ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and schedule repairs as needed.
Problem-Solving:Address and resolve any issues that arise during the shift, including equipment malfunctions, production delays, and staffing challenges.
Qualifications:
Education:
Degree in industrial related disciplines, food science, or vast and verifiable experience in related field is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or food packaging environment.

- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift - up to 50 pounds occasionally, and work in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, dusty).
Working Hours:
10-hour shifts, with flexibility for overtime and weekend work as needed for business needs.
