Summary
The
VP of Operational Improvement
for Space Systems reports directly to the President and is responsible for advancing the organization’s operational efficacy. The primary objective of this role is to collaborate with corporate, business unit, and site leadership in development and implementation of strategic initiatives and improvements.
Responsibilities
Assess operations in each business location to determine best practices and areas for improvement
Create and lead implementation of continual improvements and strategic initiatives across all Space Systems sites
Collaborate with corporate, business unit, and site leadership in development and implementation of initiatives
Collaborate with key stakeholders to create concepts and buy-in for initiatives
Coordinate interactions and handoffs between multiple departments such as program management, finance, sales, contracts, engineering and operations
Develop and report on leading indicators to foresee and prevent issues
Evangelize and implement lessons learned across locations
Create competitive advantage by improving company performance
Ideal Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering + 15 years of experience or Master’s degree in Engineering + 13 years of experience, or related science or business field degree
Passion for continuous improvement
Superior problem solving and change management skills
Prior successful experience in a lead operations/mfg role
Experience with low-volume, high mix products
Demonstrated experience setting, monitoring and meeting quarterly and annual goals
Team player with leadership skills and experience building and scaling business or manufacturing systems
Ability to travel up to 25%
US Citizen or US Person as defined by ITAR regulations
Desired Skills
An entrepreneurial spirit
Prior success in influencing
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ideally, significant experience in space industry
Strong preference for operations management experience
Prior experience in an AS9100 environment
ERP transition experience

Pay Range
$190,000 - $235,000/yr.
How We Determine What We Pay (Compensation Philosophy)
Redwire
determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth.
Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
