Job Purpose:
The Logistics Coordinator at OQ Group Performance Chemicals is responsible for executing day-to-day logistics operations within the regional Supply Chain scope. This role involves analyzing and implementing local and international logistics plans, organizing shipment routes in accordance with company and client requirements, and effectively collecting and verifying export documentation. The coordinator will prepare international delivery schedules and maintain communication with clients to track and update shipping records.
Additionally, the position requires expertise in regulatory compliance and oversight of rail fleet operations, including maintenance, optimization, and fleet size management. The coordinator will also develop and refine procedures and process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency.
The Logistics Coordinator will operate in alignment with the Group's Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategies, adhering to relevant policies, guidelines, international standards, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, all supported by a robust IT technology platform.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Bay City CoordinationImplement daily operational updates for Bay City Logistics, including scheduling and addressing issues related to barge, rail, and truck activities.Communicate daily logistics updates from the Bay City site to the Houston Supply Chain team.Promptly inform the Houston Supply Chain team of any logistics disruptions resulting from Bay City site issues.Collaborate with Celanese, Roehm, and OQT to manage logistical conflicts, prioritizing barge, rail, and truck operations.Support process improvements related to logistics needs at the Bay City site, including developing new procedures and instructions for internal users and external vendors.Rail Operations
Oversee tracking, tracing, diverting, and expediting of shipments to ensure timely deliveries to all locations including customer orders.Plan and manage rail operations, optimizing fleet utilization to reduce costs.Conduct fleet size analysis based on forecasts and cycle times to assess alignment with business requirements.Investigate equipment failures, providing guidance for inspections and corrective actions.Perform root cause analysis on Non-Accidental Release (NAR) events, ensuring effective follow-up and prevention strategies.Develop and maintain compliance with applicable transportation regulations for hazardous and non-hazardous materials, liaising with regulatory authorities (FRA, AAR, DOT).Establish and maintain procedures and instructionsfor rail transportation and services.Manage the railcar fleet maintenance program in accordance with FRA and AAR regulations.Implement an Operating Qualification (OQ) program for gasket/o-ring design based on railcar product service requirements.Provide technical guidance for acquiring railcars (owned/leased) and analyze railroad performance metrics.Delivery Coordination
Analyze and execute logistics plans to ensure operational efficiency.Organize all shipments in compliance with company requirements and priorities, coordinating closely with operations and Logistics Service Providers (LSPs).Manage order and Stock Transport Order (STO) posting and documentation for returns and replacements.Resolve SAP posting discrepancies and communicate resupply issues with the Supply Chain Planning team.Process and approve invoices related to operational costs (overtime, demurrage, detention, terminal fees, storage, rail lease, maintenance, etc.) within required deadlines.Maintain client relationships and ensure accurate tracking of shipping records.Develop and communicate timely logistics plans and delivery schedules to relevant departments.Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall logistics operations.Create and update WIEducation
Required: High School with 7+ years of direct experience.
Preferred: Minimum Qualification of bachelor's degree in related field.
Background and Experience
Minimum of 3 years direct related experience dependant on education, preferable same role.Expertise in Logistics Processes and Shipping Terms.Experience with Rail Coordination, Fleet sizing and all aspects of Rail Fleet supervision.SAP ExperienceKnowledge on transportation laws and regulationsCompetencies and Skills
