PART
-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION
Current recruitment is for our Parks & Recreation Department.
The City of Clearwater has a need for temporary employees to supplement our permanent workforce. These temporary employees are invaluable in meeting the mission of the agency.
Average weekly hours cannot be determined at date of hire.Hours may vary from week to week and are anticipated to be 28 hours per week or less.NOTE: Will be considered full-time and eligible for medical coverage if hours average 30 hours per week or more over a 12-month measurement period (or 130 hours per month).
This is manual, semi-skilled labor work involving public contact in the Special Events division.
Employees in this class perform a variety of manual labor tasks requiring some job-acquired skills in specialized fields. Work involves a considerable amount of public contact in providing information and assistance. The incumbent works under general supervision reporting to a supervisor or designee. Work is routine but requires alertness and presence of mind in all situations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions : -- Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following representative duties, knowledge, and skills. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Participates in routine to advanced maintenance and field work and may act as lead worker or work independently in a satellite location.
Duties and responsibilities may include: monitoring athletic field usage, set-up and breakdown of special events, and/or cleaning of city properties and facilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment:
A valid State driver's license is preferred.
Education and Experience:
Completion of the 10th grade.
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of operational and facility security requirements.
Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
Ability to provide accurate and timely information orally and in writing.
Ability to keep accurate and concise records.
Dependability in attendance for outdoor work regardless of weather conditions.
Good physical condition including good eyesight and hearing.
Mature judgment in emergencies.
Tact, firmness, and a courteous manner.
Ability to work weekends and evenings during periods of peak activity.
