Cardiac Rehab RN Position Summary
The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications is required for all Patient Care area Positions. The Registered Nurse is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a plan of patient care utilizing ANA Standards and the Nursing Process. Acts as a patient advocate. Provides support, information and direct care. Utilizes equipment and technology skillfully and is technically competent in nursing procedures. Educates patients and families on significant self care issues. The Cardiovascular/Pulmonary Rehabilitation (C/PR) Nurse is responsible for the exercise, education and lifestyle modification of patients recovering from myocardial infarction, open heart surgery, PTCI, stent, other interventional strategies for CAD, and those having been diagnosed with coronary artery disease. These applications will be extended to other patient populations (i.e.: COPD, CHF, diabetes), with co-morbidities as well as asymptomatic adults. Other responsibilities include involvement in the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, administering patient education and exercise therapy for the outpatient services. This reflects involvement in the inpatient and outpatient setting. The inventory, distribution/delivery of medications may be required.
Cardiac Rehab RN Position Requirements
Education
* Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse. Must hold a license in the state of permanent residency* American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 12 months of employment* Graduate of an approved School of Nursing, baccalaureate degree preferred in Nursing.* Advanced certification preferred
Experience
* Minimum 3-5 years experience in Cardiology- Intensive/Critical Care, Cardiac Telemetry, Cardiac Surgery Stepdown, Emergency* Knowledge/course work in exercise physiology and C/PR physiology its application for various patient groups. Experience in EKG interpretation, medic procedures and cardiac emergencies.* Experience in patient/adult education, counseling and management desirable.* Participate in health promotion program development and evaluation preferred.* Be familiar with pulmonary disease and/or pulmonary rehabilitation preferred.

Salary range: $30.00 - $48.00 Commensurate with experience
