Description:We are a blended Emergency/Inpatient unit that has 7 beds dedicated to emergency patients and 7 beds dedicated to inpatients. We do not accept ambulance transfers at this time but do have walk-ins and transfers from our main ED on the Newark Campus.We see a wide range of patient conditions here on our emergency side and have a close relationship with Nemours Children's Hospital, should we need to transfer anyone that requires a higher level of care. Our inpatient side sees observation and lower acuity inpatients. This includes asthmatics, bronchiolitis, high flow nasal cannula support, hyperbilirubinemia, dehydration, constipation, and febrile neonates to name a few.We also have 3 rooms on our inpatient side that are dedicated to patients in a behavioral health crisis while we work to find placement for them.Education and Experience Requirements:
BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hireTwo years of Acute Care RN experience strongly preferredPediatric, pediatric emergency, emergency department or critical care experience preferred.Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of DelawareBLS Certification required; ACLS & PALS preferred.
