Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2158P01 and is part of the FL HQ 101 AOG, National Guard. Responsibilities As a Supervisory IT Specialist (SYSADMIN), GS-2210-12, you will plan work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. Assign work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluate work performance of subordinates. Give advice, counsel, or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interview candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointment, promotion, or reassignment to such positions. Hear and resolve complaints from employees; referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager. Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other actions in more serious cases. Identify developmental and training needs of employees, providing or arranging for needed development and training. Find ways to improve production or increase the quality of the work directed. Develop performance standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications AREA OF CONSIDERATION: This position is in the Excepted Federal Civil Service "under the authority of 32 U.S.C. 709" and is open to Category 1: All permanent/indefinite (T32 and T5) technicians employed by the agency Category 3: All current military members of the Florida National Guard; and Category 4: All individuals who qualify for membership in the Florida National Guard and are willing to become T32 Dual Status technicians. PCS: Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive MAY be authorized. Authorization for payment of PCS expenses, Recruitment or Relocation Incentive will be granted ONLY after determination is made that payment is in the best interest of the Florida National Guard. Recruitment Incentive: May be paid to the candidate who is "newly appointed" into this federal government position. The bonus will NTE $7,000. Payment will be a lump sum payment at the beginning of employment. Candidate must agree in writing to remain in this position for a minimum of 12 months, and if they vacate that position for another technician, AGR or active-duty service position within the initial 12-month period, the Incentive may be recouped. Current onboard technicians, if selected, are not eligible for this bonus. FLNG BUS Code 8888: This position is "excluded" and ineligible for labor organization representation. MILITARY GRADES: Enlisted: E7 thru E8 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE - GS12: Must have at least one year of specialized experiences at the GS-11 level or the equivalent which provides knowledge and/or experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
